ZyloChat
A single developer can build the core automation and lead-capture workflow using existing OSS agents and browser automation, but reproducing ZyloChat’s polished UX, proven Instagram-safety tuning, and trust/brand advantages would be costly—so DIY is viable for a narrow workflow but not a full replacement.

Open-source builds that already do this
Every project below is open source and already does this job today. Fork one, self-host it, or take the parts you need - the build prompt further down assumes an empty file, and this is the shortcut past that. Licences differ; check the one on each card before you ship. All ZyloChat alternatives, with the arithmetic →
What a replacement has to do
- Monitor Instagram comments and DMs → parse incoming text and extract intent/lead data → generate a contextual reply or DM using an LLM → send replies/DMs via browser automation respecting delays and rate limits → capture emails/WhatsApp numbers and export or forward to CRM.
What it still won’t have
- Polished dashboard, onboarding flows and templates
- Proven Instagram-safety heuristics and long-term anti-blocking tuning
- Analytics, reporting and branded integrations
- Commercial support, SLAs, and trust signals/marketplace reach
What remains hard
- Brand trust
Trusted by Top Creators
- Execution quality
100% Safe & Instagram Friendly

The verdict above measures whether you could build it. This one is only about money.
Runnable build prompt
Build a self-hosted Instagram automation service using Node.js (Express) + Playwright for browser automation, Postgres for storage, React for a minimal dashboard, and OpenAI/GG API for text generation. Core features in scope: connect one Instagram account via cookie/session upload, poll comments and DMs, extract leads (email/phone) and intents, generate contextual replies with templating and variables, send replies/DMs with randomized delays and configurable per-account rate limits, persist leads and provide CSV export and a webhook for one downstream system. Out of scope: multi-account scaling, paid billing/affiliate program, mobile app. Require error handling, retry/backoff for automation failures, unit tests for parsing and rate-limiter logic, and a README with deployment instructions (Docker + docker-compose).

How the score was reached
- Partly verdict base52
- An open-source build was found+5
- 4 cited sources+3
- 3/3 assessment runs agreed+4
- Evidence score64
The base comes from the verdict. Everything under it is a check that either happened or did not, and each one is a fact frozen in this record rather than a judgement made at render time - so the same evidence always produces the same number.
