Posthive

Self-hosting is supported and the official AGPL repo exists, so a technical user should self-host rather than reimplement; running and maintaining the instance is feasible for one engineer.

What a replacement has to do

  • Compose a post, map per-platform overrides, schedule it, and let a job queue publish at the appointed time.

What it still won’t have

  • Hosted uptime, backups, and SRE provided by posthive.co (you must run and secure your own server)
  • Managed billing, trial/credit-card flow, and hosted webhooks/outbound reliability

What remains hard

  • Product polish and ongoing maintenance

Runnable build prompt

Not run yet
Build a self-hosted Posthive instance using Node.js (Node ≥20), pnpm, PostgreSQL, Redis, and Nginx for HTTPS. Core features in scope: clone https://github.com/AstaBlackClove/posthive, run pnpm install, set apps/api/.env from .env.example, run database migrations, configure Redis (BullMQ) and persistent uploads (S3-compatible storage), add PUBLIC_API_URL, and provision OAuth credentials for Google (YouTube), Meta (Threads/Instagram), and other platforms you need. Out of scope: reimplementing platform connectors or the web UI. Require robust error handling for failed publishes, encrypted storage of platform credentials, automated DB migrations on deploy, systemd or Docker Compose unit to run API/web/workers, HTTPS via Nginx or Cloudflare, and basic automated tests verifying account connection and a scheduled post fires. Provide a README with deploy steps and a health-check endpoint.

How the score was reached

  • An open-source build was found+5
  • 5 cited sources+3
  • Price verified on pricing page+3
  • 1/1 assessment runs agreed+4
  • Evidence score99

The base comes from the verdict. Everything under it is a check that either happened or did not, and each one is a fact frozen in this record rather than a judgement made at render time - so the same evidence always produces the same number.
