SupaBird - Grow on X
A technical user can realistically build core features (ideas generation, basic analysis, scheduling/cross-posting) using existing OSS components, but reproducing SupaBird’s managed mentor service, product polish, and any proprietary trained datasets or integrations is non-trivial—so building a useful subset is feasible, full parity is not.

Open-source builds that already do this
Every project below is open source and already does this job today. Fork one, self-host it, or take the parts you need - the build prompt further down assumes an empty file, and this is the shortcut past that. Licences differ; check the one on each card before you ship. All SupaBird - Grow on X alternatives, with the arithmetic →
What a replacement has to do
- Fetch a user's favorite creators' public posts, analyze examples, generate candidate post ideas and viral rewrites with an LLM, present/edit suggestions in a calendar UI, and schedule/cross-post to X and other platforms.
What it still won’t have
- Access to SupaBird’s branded user experience and any proprietary datasets they trained on
- Human mentor service (X Coach) and managed support
- Polished cross-platform integrations and turnkey onboarding
- Any undisclosed internal optimizations or tuning used by SupaBird
What remains hard
- Product polish and ongoing maintenance

Runnable build prompt
Build a self-hosted minimal SupaBird replacement using: Next.js + React for the frontend, Node.js/Express for the API, Postgres for persistent storage, Redis for caching and job queues, and Bull/Sidekiq-style workers for scheduling; integrate OpenAI (or Anthropic) for LLM generation. Core features in scope: (1) import a list of favorite creator handles and fetch their recent public posts into Postgres, (2) run simple analysis to extract common high-performing patterns/variables, (3) LLM-powered idea/template generator and rewrite endpoint with prompt templates and result caching, (4) editable calendar UI showing generated ideas and scheduled slots, (5) a scheduler worker that posts to X (via OAuth) and supports cross-post placeholders for Threads/LinkedIn (implement provider adapters), (6) user auth, account settings, and a basic credit/usage counter. Out of scope: human mentor service, enterprise billing, advanced proprietary model training, and long-term deliverability analytics. Require: error handling for network/API failures, rate-limit/backoff for provider APIs, unit and integration tests for API endpoints and worker jobs, and deployment scripts (Docker + docker-compose or Terraform for cloud).

How the score was reached
- Partly verdict base52
- An open-source build was found+5
- 5 cited sources+3
- Price verified on pricing page+3
- Evidence score63
The base comes from the verdict. Everything under it is a check that either happened or did not, and each one is a fact frozen in this record rather than a judgement made at render time - so the same evidence always produces the same number.
