SlideFarm - Auto AI Slide Shows

A capable developer can build a working automated TikTok slideshow pipeline (posting, LLM text, rendering, scheduling) in a few weeks, but reproducing the mobile apps, polished UX, trend/music integrations, and brand/user base of the paid product is not realistic for a single developer.

Open-source builds that already do this

Every project below is open source and already does this job today. Fork one, self-host it, or take the parts you need - the build prompt further down assumes an empty file, and this is the shortcut past that. Licences differ; check the one on each card before you ship. All SlideFarm - Auto AI Slide Shows alternatives, with the arithmetic →

What a replacement has to do

  • User uploads images → AI generates multi-slide text, titles & captions → render text overlays into slideshow video → schedule and publish to TikTok via OAuth/API → track analytics.

What it still won’t have

  • Polished iOS and Android native apps and app-store distribution
  • Built-in, tested niche AI templates and UI/UX polish for creators
  • Trend-driven music selection and any licensed audio automation
  • Credit system, retry/failure handling integrated into mobile UX
  • Large aggregated performance metrics and brand trust from existing user base

What remains hard

  • Integration maintenanceWe use TikTok's official Content Posting API with OAuth.
  • Execution qualitySet up once, post forever. Every feature is designed to remove you from the loop.
  • Brand trust16M+ Views Generated 1.6M+ Likes Earned 3,000+ Posts Published 9.9% Avg Engagement

Runnable build prompt

Build a minimal SlideFarm-like service using Node.js (Express), PostgreSQL, React web admin, and a lightweight worker (BullMQ) on a single VPS. Core features in scope: (1) TikTok OAuth and publishing via TikTok Content Posting API; (2) image upload + collections with S3-compatible storage and multi-aspect resizing; (3) LLM integration endpoint for generating multi-slide text, titles, captions and hashtags; (4) renderer that places bold text overlays on images and assembles a slideshow video (9:16 default) using FFmpeg; (5) scheduling engine to enqueue and publish posts at configured times; (6) analytics sync job to pull per-post views/likes every 6 hours and compute engagement rate. Out of scope: native mobile apps, app-store distribution, trending-music licensing and discovery UI, marketplace or multi-tenant billing. Include error handling, retry logic for failed posts, unit tests for API routes, and end-to-end tests for the publish workflow.

How the score was reached

  • Partly verdict base52
  • An open-source build was found+5
  • 3 cited sources+3
  • 3/3 assessment runs agreed+4
  • Evidence score64

The base comes from the verdict. Everything under it is a check that either happened or did not, and each one is a fact frozen in this record rather than a judgement made at render time - so the same evidence always produces the same number.
