PostScheduler

A single competent developer can build a narrow self-hosted scheduler (compose, schedule, post to a few platforms, ledger, basic analytics) using existing OSS components, but reproducing the full multi-platform reliability, polished UI, and credit/payments UX of the paid product is a larger multi-week effort better served by the prior-art projects listed.

Open-source builds that already do this

Every project below is open source and already does this job today. Fork one, self-host it, or take the parts you need - the build prompt further down assumes an empty file, and this is the shortcut past that. Licences differ; check the one on each card before you ship. All PostScheduler alternatives, with the arithmetic →

What a replacement has to do

  • Author a post, select platforms/accounts, schedule (hold credits), publish via platform APIs, fetch per-post analytics.

What it still won’t have

  • Polished UI/UX and product polish (calendar UX, previews across 8 platforms)
  • Handled edge cases and platform-specific publish reliability achieved in production
  • The vendor’s credit-management/pay-as-you-go UX and built transaction ledger
  • Support, monitoring, and operational polish for many OAuth provider changes

What remains hard

  • Product polish and ongoing maintenance

Runnable build prompt

Not run yet
Build a minimal self-hosted PostScheduler clone using Next.js (React) for the frontend, Node.js + Express for the API, Postgres for storage, Redis for job locking, and BullMQ for background workers. In scope: OAuth account connections for at least X and LinkedIn, compose editor with per-platform preview and per-platform overrides, scheduling API that holds a 'credit' on scheduling and captures on successful publish, a worker that posts via platform SDKs, a simple Stripe top-up flow (buy credits), a transaction ledger UI, per-post analytics fetcher (time-series snapshots), and a calendar month/week view. Out of scope: supporting all 8 platforms, advanced quota/retry orchestration, high-availability multi-region deployment, and mobile apps. Include error handling for failed publishes (auto-refund), unit and integration tests for publish and ledger flows, and basic monitoring/health endpoints.

The base comes from the verdict. Everything under it is a check that either happened or did not, and each one is a fact frozen in this record rather than a judgement made at render time - so the same evidence always produces the same number.
