Postgetti
A single developer can build core post-generation, scheduling, and simple auto-reply automation in a few weeks, but matching the vendor's claimed proprietary dataset, managed services, polish, and reliability is not realistic.

Open-source builds that already do this
Every project below is open source and already does this job today. Fork one, self-host it, or take the parts you need - the build prompt further down assumes an empty file, and this is the shortcut past that. Licences differ; check the one on each card before you ship. All Postgetti alternatives, with the arithmetic →
What a replacement has to do
- Generate LinkedIn posts with an LLM; store posts and schedule metadata in a database; publish scheduled posts to LinkedIn (API or browser automation); run an agent to auto-reply to comments; basic analytics/dashboard to view impressions and engagement.
What it still won’t have
- Proprietary training dataset of 120,000+ viral posts
- Managed / Done-for-you agency service and priority support
- Any bespoke fine-tuning or internal prompt engineering claimed by vendor
- Polished UX, onboarding, and reliability guarantees of the paid product
What remains hard
- Proprietary data
Trained on over 120,000+ viral posts, Postgetti’s AI writes with proven winning content writing formats.

What we assumed
The verdict above measures whether you could build it. This one is only about money.
Runnable build prompt
Build a minimal self-hosted Postgetti-like service using Next.js (React) for the frontend, Node.js/Express backend, Postgres for storage, Redis or cron for scheduling, and OpenAI (or other LLM) for generation. Implement: (1) authenticated web UI to create/edit post prompts and view scheduled posts; (2) LLM-driven post generation with configurable prompt templates; (3) persistent storage of drafts, schedules, and engagement metrics; (4) scheduler that publishes posts to LinkedIn via the LinkedIn API or, where API access is unavailable, a headless browser automation fallback (Puppeteer/Playwright); (5) a comment-watcher that fetches new comments and generates auto-replies via LLM; (6) basic analytics (counts of posts, scheduled posts, replies sent). Out of scope: team/multi-account billing, advanced analytics dashboards, managed agency services, and building a proprietary viral-post dataset. Include error handling, retries for network failures, logging, and automated tests for core flows (generation, scheduling, publishing, and reply sending).
How we checked
How the score was reached
- Partly verdict base52
- An open-source build was found+5
- 4 cited sources+3
- Price verified on pricing page+3
- 3/3 assessment runs agreed+4
- Hard moats found in the evidence-3
- Evidence score64
The base comes from the verdict. Everything under it is a check that either happened or did not, and each one is a fact frozen in this record rather than a judgement made at render time - so the same evidence always produces the same number.
