Social media decision
PostClaw
A solo engineer can build the useful core (brand scraping, LLM generation, scheduling + publishing via a provider API, and a review UI) in about a week and maintain it; the vendor's main durable advantage is its integration with a publishing provider and an existing user base, not proprietary data or models.

Open-source builds that already do this
Every project below is open source and already does this job today. Fork one, self-host it, or take the parts you need - the build prompt further down assumes an empty file, and this is the shortcut past that. Licences differ; check the one on each card before you ship. All PostClaw alternatives, with the arithmetic →
What a replacement has to do
- Ingest a landing page to learn brand voice → generate a week of Instagram-native posts via an LLM → schedule/publish posts to Instagram via a publishing API → provide a simple approval UI and store drafts/edits.
What it still won’t have
- Proprietary ongoing brand-modeling and multi-week personalization history
- Real human support (PostClaw advertises "Real human support")
- Any proprietary scheduling/reliability guarantees and multi-account scale
- Built-in analytics and marketplace/trust of an existing user base
What remains hard
- Integration maintenance
Every post you approve goes out through Zernio's social media API. Proven infrastructure for reliable publishing to Instagram.

Runnable build prompt
Build a minimal self-hosted AI Instagram manager using Node.js (Express), Postgres, Redis (jobs), and React for the UI. Core features in scope: (1) a landing-page scraper endpoint that extracts headline/description and stores brand profile; (2) an LLM integration module (OpenAI-compatible) that accepts a brand profile and a topic sentence and returns a week's worth of Instagram-native posts (captions, image prompts, post type, schedule times); (3) OAuth-based Instagram publishing integration implemented via a publishing API adapter (design adapter so Zernio or another provider can be swapped); (4) a React review dashboard to list drafts, edit text, approve or reject, and trigger scheduled publish; (5) background job worker (Redis + Bull or similar) to schedule publishes and retry failures; (6) data persistence in Postgres and basic event logging. Out of scope: proprietary analytics dashboards, multi-tenant billing, advanced content-generation models, mobile app. Include error handling for API failures and retries, unit tests for the LLM and publishing adapters, and CI config to run tests and deploy a Docker Compose stack.
How we checked
How the score was reached
- Build verdict base78
- An open-source build was found+5
- 4 cited sources+3
- Price verified on pricing page+3
- Evidence score89
The base comes from the verdict. Everything under it is a check that either happened or did not, and each one is a fact frozen in this record rather than a judgement made at render time - so the same evidence always produces the same number.
