Social media decision
Odace+
A capable developer can build a usable self-hosted replacement for the scheduling, calendar, storage and basic AI transforms, but Odace+'s bespoke onboarding, managed creative production and vendor/agency services (and the packaged support implied on the pricing page) are not replicated cheaply, so keeping the paid service makes sense for teams needing that managed offering.

Open-source builds that already do this
Every project below is open source and already does this job today. Fork one, self-host it, or take the parts you need - the build prompt further down assumes an empty file, and this is the shortcut past that. Licences differ; check the one on each card before you ship. All Odace+ alternatives, with the arithmetic →
What a replacement has to do
- User workspaces & auth; editorial calendar + post scheduling (with worker); brief/order creation + revision workflow + file storage; social network integrations (OAuth + publish APIs) and analytics ingestion; lightweight AI transforms (subtitle generation, repurposing long->short).
What it still won’t have
- Managed, white‑glove setup and personalized workspace configuration
- Access to Odace+'s creative team and curated content production service
- Integrated vendor/agency marketplace for ordering content (their suppliers)
- Guaranteed support SLA and onboarding assistance described on pricing page
- Prebuilt, enterprise-grade cross-platform analytics and attribution tuned by the vendor
What remains hard
- Product polish and ongoing maintenance

Runnable build prompt
Build a self-hosted minimal social content ops app using Next.js (React) + Node.js API, Postgres, Redis, and S3-compatible storage. Core features in scope: user/org accounts and invitations; editorial calendar UI with create/edit/post scheduling; background worker (BullMQ) to enqueue and execute scheduled posts; connector layer for social OAuth and publish endpoints (implement 2 sample connectors, e.g., Twitter/X and Facebook/Meta); brief/order creation with file upload, revision workflow and simple approval UI; analytics ingestion jobs that pull basic metrics from connected accounts and render per-post and per-account dashboards; AI transform endpoints using OpenAI (or compatible) for subtitle generation and long->short repurposing. Out of scope: built-in managed creative services, vendor marketplace, enterprise billing. Require robust error handling, retries for network failures, authentication/authorization tests, end-to-end tests for scheduling and publish flows, and unit tests for connector layer. Provide Docker compose for local dev and a deployment guide for a small VPS or managed DB/Redis, and add basic monitoring/alerts for worker failures.
How we checked
How the score was reached
- Partly verdict base52
- An open-source build was found+5
- 4 cited sources+3
- Evidence score60
The base comes from the verdict. Everything under it is a check that either happened or did not, and each one is a fact frozen in this record rather than a judgement made at render time - so the same evidence always produces the same number.
