Social media decision

Media-pilot

A competent developer can build a narrow self-hosted LinkedIn post generator + scheduler using existing open-source projects, but reproducing the full commercial polish, cross-network integrations, and analytics maturity of the paid product is non-trivial.

Open-source builds that already do this

Every project below is open source and already does this job today. Fork one, self-host it, or take the parts you need - the build prompt further down assumes an empty file, and this is the shortcut past that. What a replacement has to do

  • Generate AI LinkedIn posts, schedule them, publish via LinkedIn API, and collect analytics.

What it still won’t have

  • Polish and UX refinements of a commercial product
  • Mature analytics aggregation and edge-case handling
  • Customer support and SLAs
  • Integrations with other social networks and added-platform connectors
  • Ongoing product improvements and uptime guarantees

What remains hard

  • Product polish and ongoing maintenance

Runnable build prompt

Not run yet
Build a self-hosted AI LinkedIn post scheduler using Next.js (React) for the frontend, Node.js/Express for the API, PostgreSQL for storage, Redis + BullMQ for background jobs, and a worker process to call the LinkedIn API and an LLM (OpenAI or compatible). Core features in scope: user OAuth login for LinkedIn, create/edit post drafts with LLM-assisted generation and templates, schedule posts, background worker that posts at scheduled time with retry/backoff and stores publish status, fetch and display LinkedIn post analytics, and a simple dashboard for scheduled and published posts. Out of scope: multi-account team billing, integrations with other social networks, built-in email support, and enterprise SSO. Require: robust error handling for API failures, retry and dead-letter handling for jobs, input validation and rate-limit safeguards, unit tests for API endpoints and worker logic, and basic e2e tests for schedule-to-post flow.

How the score was reached

  • Partly verdict base52
  • An open-source build was found+5
  • 3 cited sources+3
  • Evidence score60

The base comes from the verdict. Everything under it is a check that either happened or did not, and each one is a fact frozen in this record rather than a judgement made at render time - so the same evidence always produces the same number.
