Growfol

A single developer can build a usable LinkedIn post-generation and scheduling replacement, but the full commercial product (scale, polished integrations, compliance and growth features) is not fully reproducible quickly without ongoing ops and LinkedIn-specific work.

Open-source builds that already do this

Every project below is open source and already does this job today. Fork one, self-host it, or take the parts you need - the build prompt further down assumes an empty file, and this is the shortcut past that. Licences differ; check the one on each card before you ship. All Growfol alternatives, with the arithmetic →

What a replacement has to do

  • Generate LinkedIn posts with an LLM, schedule and post them, and automate outreach via browser automation.

What it still won’t have

  • Polish of a commercial UI and UX
  • Scale, monitoring, and hardened rate-limit handling for many accounts
  • Built-in LinkedIn integrations and compliance/legal support
  • Brand trust, customer support, and enterprise features

What remains hard

  • Product polish and ongoing maintenance

Runnable build prompt

Not run yet
Build a minimal LinkedIn growth automation service using Next.js (React) for the frontend, Node.js + Express for the API, Postgres for storage, Playwright for browser automation, and the OpenAI API for content generation. In scope: (1) account connect flow (store credentials or session cookies), (2) LLM-driven post template creation with editable drafts, (3) scheduler and background worker to post via Playwright, (4) simple campaign UI to create/schedule posts and a table for recipients, (5) logging, retries, and a page showing post status and basic engagement metrics. Out of scope: enterprise multi-tenant billing, advanced analytics, native mobile apps, and LinkedIn enterprise API integrations. Require: error handling for network/LLM/browser failures, unit tests for core modules, integration tests for the posting worker, and Docker Compose for local dev and deployment.

How the score was reached

  • Partly verdict base52
  • An open-source build was found+5
  • 3 cited sources+3
  • Evidence score60

The base comes from the verdict. Everything under it is a check that either happened or did not, and each one is a fact frozen in this record rather than a judgement made at render time - so the same evidence always produces the same number.
