Social media decision
flowtera
A capable developer can build a narrow replacement (scheduling, client approvals, and basic publishing) using existing open-source projects, but reproducing Flowtera's complete multi-tenant polish, broad integrations, support, and hosted convenience is non-trivial.

Open-source builds that already do this
Every project below is open source and already does this job today. Fork one, self-host it, or take the parts you need - the build prompt further down assumes an empty file, and this is the shortcut past that. Licences differ; check the one on each card before you ship. All flowtera alternatives, with the arithmetic →
What a replacement has to do
- Create a post with media → send to client panel for approval/comments → on approval, auto-publish to connected social platform(s) → record status and notify collaborators.
What it still won’t have
- Polished multi-tenant UX and polish of hosted product
- Official customer support, onboarding and SLAs
- Breadth and reliability of built-in integrations across many platforms
- Add-ons, billing, and advanced team/agency features out of the box
- Localized polish product/branding and existing user base
What remains hard

What we assumed
The verdict above measures whether you could build it. This one is only about money.
Runnable build prompt
Build a minimal self-hosted social media planning & approval service using: React (Next.js) frontend, Node.js (Express) API, PostgreSQL, Amazon S3 for media, and Redis for realtime/pubsub. Core features in scope: calendar-driven post editor with per-platform previews, media gallery (upload + S3 storage + thumbnails), client-facing approval panel (comment, accept/reject, history), basic workspace/multi-tenant user model (creator, client), scheduled publisher worker that calls social platform APIs, and WebSocket notifications. Out of scope: multi-currency billing, multi-region infra, advanced analytics, and premium onboarding. Include input validation, error handling, retry/backoff for publisher jobs, integration tests for API endpoints, and end-to-end tests covering create→approve→publish flow.
How we checked
How the score was reached
- Partly verdict base52
- An open-source build was found+5
- 2 cited sources+1
- Evidence score58
The base comes from the verdict. Everything under it is a check that either happened or did not, and each one is a fact frozen in this record rather than a judgement made at render time - so the same evidence always produces the same number.
