Flowpost
A competent developer can build a useful replacement (post generation + carousel export) in about a week and operate it cheaply; the vendor's value appears to be polish, volume features, and support rather than unreplicable data or infrastructure.

Open-source builds that already do this
Every project below is open source and already does this job today. Fork one, self-host it, or take the parts you need - the build prompt further down assumes an empty file, and this is the shortcut past that. Licences differ; check the one on each card before you ship. All Flowpost alternatives, with the arithmetic →
What a replacement has to do
- User supplies a topic/tone -> LLM generates post -> convert post into multi-slide carousel images -> apply brand styles and export
What it still won’t have
- Polished UX and weekly product polish
- Proprietary training data and any custom models
- Dedicated customer support and SLAs
- Integrated analytics, marketing, and affiliate features
- Mobile apps or deep platform integrations
What remains hard
- Product polish and ongoing maintenance
First-year cost

The verdict above measures whether you could build it. This one is only about money.
Runnable build prompt
Build a single-tenant web app in Node.js (Express) + React that generates LinkedIn posts and multi-slide carousels. Core features in scope: (1) frontend form to enter topic, tone, and format; (2) server-side LLM integration (OpenAI-compatible) with prompt templates to produce post copy, slide breakdowns, translations and summaries; (3) a carousel renderer that lays out text over images (use headless Puppeteer or canvas + an image-generation API like Stable Diffusion) and exports PNG/PDF; (4) branding settings (logo upload, color, font) and persistent draft storage in Postgres + S3; (5) simple email/password auth and a dashboard to edit/export posts. Out of scope: multi-tenant billing, analytics dashboard, mobile apps, and affiliate program. Include error handling for API failures, retries, logging, and unit/integration tests for the API endpoints and carousel generation pipeline.

How the score was reached
- Build verdict base78
- An open-source build was found+5
- 5 cited sources+3
- 3/3 assessment runs agreed+4
- Evidence score90
The base comes from the verdict. Everything under it is a check that either happened or did not, and each one is a fact frozen in this record rather than a judgement made at render time - so the same evidence always produces the same number.
