ClimbX

A technical user can build a useful subset (drafting, scheduling, basic analytics) in about a week, but matching ClimbX's live-trained voice, historical breakout dataset and polished UX would be costly to fully reproduce.

Open-source builds that already do this

Every project below is open source and already does this job today. Fork one, self-host it, or take the parts you need - the build prompt further down assumes an empty file, and this is the shortcut past that. Licences differ; check the one on each card before you ship. All ClimbX alternatives, with the arithmetic →

What a replacement has to do

  • Poll X account metrics, surface outlier posts to reply to, draft voice‑matched post/reply with an LLM, schedule or publish posts via X, and store metrics to refine future suggestions.

What it still won’t have

  • ClimbX's pre-collected breakout-post library and any aggregated niche dataset
  • The vendor's trained, account-adaptive 'voice' model and its compounding self-learning
  • Polish of the commercial UI, onboarding flows and community/trust around the product
  • Built-in MCP tool wrapper and any maintained integrations not implemented

Runnable build prompt

Not run yet
Build a minimal ClimbX replacement: a web app (Next.js + React) with a Postgres DB and background workers (Node.js + BullMQ) deployed on a small VPS or managed container. Core features in scope: (1) OAuth/token connect to a single X account and store credentials, (2) background fetcher that pulls recent posts/metrics and computes simple 'outlier' scores and per-format aggregates, (3) LLM integration (OpenAI or compatible) to generate 3 draft variants from a prompt template and store user edits, (4) scheduler worker that enforces a daily post cap, retries, and publishes via X API endpoints, (5) simple UI to show outliers, present drafts for edit, schedule/publish, and show a 30-day analytics summary. Out of scope: multi-account team billing, video media uploads, advanced self-learning pipelines, and MCP tool support. Include retries, error handling, logging, CI tests for API endpoints and workers, and documentation for deployment and obtaining necessary API keys.

The base comes from the verdict. Everything under it is a check that either happened or did not, and each one is a fact frozen in this record rather than a judgement made at render time - so the same evidence always produces the same number.
