Image and video decision
Bazaar
A capable developer can build a narrow self-hosted CLI+orchestration replacement (scene orchestration + model calls + ffmpeg render) using available open-source projects, but matching Bazaar's polished skill library, multi-model integrations, hosting scale, and UX would be expensive to reproduce.

Open-source builds that already do this
Every project below is open source and already does this job today. Fork one, self-host it, or take the parts you need - the build prompt further down assumes an empty file, and this is the shortcut past that. Licences differ; check the one on each card before you ship. All Bazaar alternatives, with the arithmetic →
What a replacement has to do
- Accept a text prompt → plan scenes (agent) → call generation models (image/video/voice) → compose timeline → render/export MP4
What it still won’t have
- Hosted, curated skill library and one-click skills
- Proprietary multi-model orchestration and built-in model contracts
- Branded templates, priority generation, and built-in HD export credits
- User-facing polished CLI docs, agent skill files, and built-in billing UX
What remains hard
- Integration maintenance
Use your Baz API key for access to all the latest AI models
- Infrastructure at scale

The verdict above measures whether you could build it. This one is only about money.
Runnable build prompt
Build a minimal Baz-like service: Node.js + Express backend, Postgres for projects, S3-compatible storage, a small React web UI and a CLI wrapper (npm). Core features: project/context management, scene-generation API that calls hosted models (Hugging Face/Replicate/OpenAI) for image/video/TTS, a render compositor to assemble scenes and encode MP4 (ffmpeg), Stripe top-up flow, and simple export download. Out of scope: curated skill marketplace, advanced choreography editor, multi-tenant billing dashboard. Include error handling, input validation, and unit tests for API routes.
How we checked
How the score was reached
- Partly verdict base52
- An open-source build was found+5
- 5 cited sources+3
- 3/3 assessment runs agreed+4
- Hard moats found in the evidence-3
- Evidence score61
The base comes from the verdict. Everything under it is a check that either happened or did not, and each one is a fact frozen in this record rather than a judgement made at render time - so the same evidence always produces the same number.
