JSON-Tools.com

Build it — the functionality is client-side and reproducible in ~24 hours; JSON-Tools presents no durable moat and can be replaced by a small static app or existing OSS projects.

Open-source builds that already do this

Every project below is open source and already does this job today. Fork one, self-host it, or take the parts you need - the build prompt further down assumes an empty file, and this is the shortcut past that. Licences differ; check the one on each card before you ship. All JSON-Tools.com alternatives, with the arithmetic →

What a replacement has to do

  • Paste or upload JSON in the browser → validate/format/convert client-side → download or copy output (Markdown, CSV, TypeScript, etc.).

What it still won’t have

  • Polished cross-tool UX, testing across many edge-case converters
  • Possibly the full catalogue of 30+ one-click converters
  • Hosted branding, domain, and any SEO / discoverability the site provides

What remains hard

  • Product polish and ongoing maintenance

Runnable build prompt

Not run yet
Build a single-page React + TypeScript app served as static files (Vite) that performs all processing client-side. Core features in scope: paste or upload JSON, parse and validate with clear error messages, pretty-print/beautify JSON, converters for JSON→Markdown, JSON→CSV, JSON→TypeScript (interfaces), JSON→SQL (basic row flattening), file import/export and copy-to-clipboard. Explicitly out of scope: server-side processing, multi-user accounts, paid billing, analytics. Require: robust input sanitation, graceful error handling, unit tests for each converter, end-to-end tests for upload/convert/download flows, and CI to build static assets. Provide documentation and examples for supported input shapes and converter options.

How the score was reached

  • Build verdict base78
  • An open-source build was found+5
  • 4 cited sources+3
  • Evidence score86

The base comes from the verdict. Everything under it is a check that either happened or did not, and each one is a fact frozen in this record rather than a judgement made at render time - so the same evidence always produces the same number.
