Developer tools decision
FlashPanel
A skilled developer can build a useful self-hosted subset (agent, dashboard, deployments, basic monitoring) using existing open-source panels as prior art, but reimplementing FlashPanel's full commercial feature-set, app store breadth, and support/operations would be a multi-week effort and harder to match.

Open-source builds that already do this
Every project below is open source and already does this job today. Fork one, self-host it, or take the parts you need - the build prompt further down assumes an empty file, and this is the shortcut past that. Licences differ; check the one on each card before you ship. All FlashPanel alternatives, with the arithmetic →
What a replacement has to do
- Manage servers from a web UI: register a server agent, view system metrics, deploy app from Git, manage websites/databases, run backups and execute admin tasks.
What it still won’t have
- Production-hardened polish and UX of the commercial dashboard
- Broad one-click App Store and many curated installers
- Official support, SLAs and 24/7 monitoring service
- Some paid-only features (auto-deploy on push, advanced paid-only migrations, some security features)
- Mature multi-team role management, billing, and priority support
What remains hard
- Product polish and ongoing maintenance

Runnable build prompt
Build a self-hostable VPS management panel using React (Vite) front-end, Node.js/Express backend, a Postgres database, and a lightweight Rust/Go agent installed on target VPS (deployed as a systemd service). Core features in scope: agent registration over SSH, server inventory and metrics (CPU/mem/disk) collection, web SSH terminal (gateway to agent), Git-triggered deployments (webhook receiver + runner), basic app installation (one-click WordPress), service start/stop/restart, scheduled backups to S3-compatible storage, and email alerts. Out of scope: in-depth mail server management, full-scale multi-tenant billing, advanced marketplace app store, and enterprise SLA/24/7 monitoring. Require authentication, RBAC for at least two roles (admin/user), error handling and retries, unit and integration tests for API endpoints, and deployment via Docker Compose and systemd unit for the agent.

How the score was reached
- Partly verdict base52
- An open-source build was found+5
- 5 cited sources+3
- 3/3 assessment runs agreed+4
- Evidence score64
The base comes from the verdict. Everything under it is a check that either happened or did not, and each one is a fact frozen in this record rather than a judgement made at render time - so the same evidence always produces the same number.
