Viven: Bible in Action
A single developer can build a useful offline Bible reader with highlights, sharing and a daily verse in a few weeks, but reproducing the polished, multi‑tier subscription product in the App Store (subscriptions, localization, analytics, distribution and polished widgets) is more work; consider leveraging existing open projects before rebuilding.

Every project below is open source and already does this job today. Fork one, self-host it, or take the parts you need - the build prompt further down assumes an empty file, and this is the shortcut past that. What a replacement has to do
- Read Bible text, save highlights/bookmarks, get a daily verse, share verse images, and take quick quizzes.
What it still won’t have
- Polished App Store‑grade UI/animations and cross‑device polish
- Built-in paid subscription management, billing edge-cases and analytics integration
- Localization into multiple languages and accessibility testing
- App store distribution/ratings/reviews and marketing reach
- Any server‑side features (cloud sync across devices) and enterprise compliance
What remains hard
- Product polish and ongoing maintenance

What we assumed
The verdict above measures whether you could build it. This one is only about money.
Runnable build prompt
Build a minimal iOS Bible reader in SwiftUI with a local SQLite (GRDB) store and optional iCloud disabled. Core features in scope: (1) import/bundle a public domain Bible text and present book/chapter/verse navigation and search; (2) persist highlights, bookmarks, and reading position in local SQLite; (3) implement a daily‑verse generator with local notification and a simple widget; (4) render and export shareable verse images with selectable themes; (5) include a small quiz module with persisted scores. Out of scope: payment/subscription server, server‑side sync across devices, multi‑language shipping, analytics backend. Require error handling, unit tests for data layer, and basic UI tests for the reader and share flow. Provide README with build/run steps and instructions to replace the bundled Bible text.
How we checked
How the score was reached
- Partly verdict base52
- An open-source build was found+5
- 7 cited sources+3
- Price verified on pricing page+3
- 3/3 assessment runs agreed+4
- Evidence score67
The base comes from the verdict. Everything under it is a check that either happened or did not, and each one is a fact frozen in this record rather than a judgement made at render time - so the same evidence always produces the same number.
