vibeScreens
A competent technical user can build a useful replacement in ~30 hours and maintain it cheaply; the product page shows no durable moats or proprietary barriers.

Not priced
No pricing page we fetched carried a figure, so there is nothing to compare against. The build side is still real.
$50one-off30 h to build
$100/mo3 h/mo upkeep
No published price to break even against.
No open-source build does this yet
Nothing published replaces this one, so a replacement starts from an empty file. Here is what it would have to cover.
What a replacement has to do
- Upload app/artwork + choose device template and copy + generate/composite AI image(s) + export platform-sized screenshot files
What it still won’t have
- Polish of a commercial editor (UX, many templates, preset styles)
- Curated template library and frequent new templates
- Hosted, scaled background-generation infrastructure and SLAs
- Integrated payment, team accounts, and analytics
What remains hard
- Product polish and ongoing maintenance
First-year cost
No published price
vibeScreens does not publish a price we could read, so there is nothing to compare against. What building costs is below.

The verdict above measures whether you could build it. This one is only about money.
Runnable build prompt
Build a small web app (Next.js + Node/Express backend, PostgreSQL for metadata, Redis for simple queue, S3-compatible object storage) that: 1) accepts uploads of app screenshots/icons and localized copy via a responsive UI; 2) provides a template system of device mockups and composes uploaded images/text into platform-sized outputs; 3) calls an image-generation API (Replicate or OpenAI images) when missing backgrounds/graphics are requested; 4) enqueues composition jobs, stores outputs in object storage, and offers ZIP export for App Store / Play Store bundles. Out of scope: multi-tenant billing, analytics dashboard, marketplace. Require authentication for the uploader, robust error handling for API failures, background job retries, and unit+integration tests for upload, job processing, and export flows.
How we checked
How the score was reached
- Build verdict base78
- Evidence score78
The base comes from the verdict. Everything under it is a check that either happened or did not, and each one is a fact frozen in this record rather than a judgement made at render time - so the same evidence always produces the same number.
