TruckerDB

A single developer can reproduce the daily-leads core (ingest, store, dashboard, exports) in a few weeks using existing scraping and email-finding tools, but recreating TruckerDB's predictive renewal engine, built-in cold-email automation, and commercial polish is larger scope and not covered by the minimal replacement.

Open-source builds that already do this

Every project below is open source and already does this job today. Fork one, self-host it, or take the parts you need - the build prompt further down assumes an empty file, and this is the shortcut past that. Licences differ; check the one on each card before you ship. All TruckerDB alternatives, with the arithmetic →

What a replacement has to do

  • Ingest newly-registered DOT carrier records daily, extract/verify owner contact info, store leads, and deliver a daily downloadable lead list to a simple dashboard.

What it still won’t have

  • Proprietary predictive Insurance Renewal Engine (policy anniversary predictions)
  • Built-in cold-email automation, warmup, included domains/accounts, unified inbox and campaign builder
  • Commercial support, uptime SLAs, and ongoing data-cleaning at scale
  • Any undisclosed data enrichment pipeline or proprietary quality controls

What remains hard

  • Product polish and ongoing maintenance

Build a minimal TruckerDB replacement as a hosted app using Node.js (Express), Postgres, and a React dashboard. Core features in scope: 1) daily ingestion worker that fetches new DOT registrations (scriptable scraper or API), 2) parsing/normalization pipeline to extract company, owner name, email, phone, DOT number, classification, city/state and dedupe before insert, 3) Postgres schema and REST API to query daily drops and filtered lists, 4) cron job to run ingestion at 07:00 UTC-appropriate timezone, generate CSV export, and store daily snapshots, 5) simple auth-protected React UI to view today's drop, filter, save a list, and download CSV; include export endpoint and basic rate-limiting. Out of scope: predictive insurance-renewal modeling, cold-email automation/warmup, multi-account billing. Require error handling, logging, retries for ingestion, tests for parsing and dedupe logic, and deployment scripts for a single VPS (Docker Compose) plus environment/secret config.

How the score was reached

  • Partly verdict base52
  • An open-source build was found+5
  • 4 cited sources+3
  • Price verified on pricing page+3
  • 3/3 assessment runs agreed+4
  • Evidence score67

The base comes from the verdict. Everything under it is a check that either happened or did not, and each one is a fact frozen in this record rather than a judgement made at render time - so the same evidence always produces the same number.
