Creator and commerce decision
ThriveCart
Build a narrow checkout+subscription replacement is feasible, but much of ThriveCart’s durable value—trained conversion optimizations, a large affiliate marketplace, tax automation, LMS/video hosting, and enterprise services—is not practically reproducible by a single developer or small team.

Nothing published replaces this one, so a replacement starts from an empty file. Here is what it would have to cover.
What a replacement has to do
- Present hosted checkout page → accept payment via Stripe/PayPal → deliver product/access (digital file or LMS enrolment) → run post-purchase upsell/funnel → record sale and basic analytics; optional affiliate attribution.
What it still won’t have
- Proprietary AI optimizations trained on 70M+ transactions
- Large built-in affiliate network & automated payouts (900K+ affiliates)
- Global tax automation across 100+ countries
- Built-in LMS with video hosting, streaming and course migration
- Enterprise SLAs, white-glove migrations, and dedicated account managers
What remains hard
- Marketplace liquidity
Automated Affiliate Management Onboard and manage affiliates with our native platform, powering 900K+ affiliates.
- Brand trust
Trusted by 75,000+ creators and businesses worldwide

Runnable build prompt
Build a minimal self-hosted checkout+funnel service using React for the frontend, Node.js (Express) for the API, Postgres for storage, and Stripe + PayPal for payments. In scope: (1) customizable hosted checkout page templates, (2) Stripe and PayPal integration with webhooks for one-time and subscription billing and proration, (3) post-purchase 1-click upsell/downsell flow, (4) order/customer storage and basic subscription lifecycle management, (5) simple affiliate link generation and attribution recording (no automated payouts), (6) an admin UI with order/MRR/AOV charts. Out of scope: built-in LMS/video hosting, global tax automation, automated affiliate payouts, enterprise SLAs, and proprietary AI conversion optimization. Include error handling for payment/webhook failures, input validation, and unit/integration tests for payment flows and webhook handlers.

How the score was reached
- Pay verdict base20
- 2 cited sources+1
- Hard moats found in the evidence-6
- Evidence score15
The base comes from the verdict. Everything under it is a check that either happened or did not, and each one is a fact frozen in this record rather than a judgement made at render time — so the same evidence always produces the same number.
