Email and newsletters decision
SparkLoop
A capable developer can build a basic referral tracking and reward-fulfilment replacement, but SparkLoop's curated recommendations network, vetted partner marketplace, and enterprise anti-fraud at scale are durable advantages that are not practical to recreate in a small self-hosted build.

This project is real, published, and does the core job — and this page still says keep paying. What the subscription buys is network effects and brand trust, and none of that ships in a repository. What a replacement has to do
- Track referrals, attribute new signups to referrers, display referral status to users, and fulfil rewards.
What it still won’t have
- Access to SparkLoop's curated recommendations network and paid marketplace
- Concierge onboarding, account strategy services and boutique support
- Enterprise-grade, continuously-updated anti-fraud protections at scale
- The manual vetting and trust of thousands of partner newsletters that feed paid recommendations
What remains hard
- Network effects
Partner up with the world's best newsletters for free and paid recommendations.
- Brand trust

Runnable build prompt
Build a referral-tracking microservice and simple dashboard using Node.js + Express, Postgres, React, and a small Nginx-hosted tracking script. Core features in scope: (1) connect to one ESP via API/webhooks (e.g., Mailchimp) to sync subscribers, (2) generate unique referral links and persist click/signup attribution in Postgres, (3) provide a lightweight JS tracking snippet that attaches referral cookies to sign-up forms, (4) expose a React Referral Hub showing counts and reward status per subscriber, (5) implement reward fulfilment webhook endpoints to trigger email coupon sends and integrate with Printful-like API, (6) basic anti-fraud heuristics (IP rate limits, duplicate email checks, simple velocity rules). Out of scope: building or reproducing SparkLoop's curated recommendations marketplace, manual vetting processes, concierge services, or advanced machine-learning fraud detection. Provide error handling, input validation, unit tests for core logic, an integration test for the ESP sync flow, and Docker-based deploy scripts for a single VPS.

- Evidence score29
The base comes from the verdict. Everything under it is a check that either happened or did not, and each one is a fact frozen in this record rather than a judgement made at render time - so the same evidence always produces the same number.
