A focused MVP (editor + template set + background-removal via third-party API) is realistic for a small team in ~1 week and cheaper than Snappa’s paid plan, but reproducing Snappa’s large stock library, template volume, polish, and team features is not practical for a solo builder.

Build a minimal web-based graphic editor using React + TypeScript, React-Canvas/Fabric.js for the editor, Node.js + Express backend, PostgreSQL for user records, and S3 for asset storage. In scope: user signup/login (single-seat), choose from a small set of templates (store JSON templates), upload images, basic editor tools (add/transform text, shapes, layers, crop/resize), integrate a third-party background-removal API for one-click background removal, export flattened PNG/JPEG, and a paid-gating check for the background-removal feature. Out of scope: full 5M stock library, team/collaboration, social scheduling integrations, and advanced template marketplace. Include retries and error handling for API calls, upload validation, and unit/integration tests for backend endpoints and core editor save/export flows.
