Sherpa

A small team or skilled developer can reproduce the core Q&A + audio delivery and private podcast in a few weeks, but the product's durable value (expert mentor network and the 8,000+ resolved-question archive) cannot be replicated by a DIY rebuild and makes a full replacement impractical.

No open-source build does this yet

Nothing published replaces this one, so a replacement starts from an empty file. Here is what it would have to cover.

What a replacement has to do

  • Member submits a clinical question (optionally with files) → a mentor records/uploads an audio answer and threads messages → system delivers the answer by email, private podcast episode and web playback → member reopens case or applies advice; monthly live sessions and access to an archive of past Q&A.

What it still won’t have

  • The existing team of 8 named specialist mentors and their live availability
  • Access to the archived corpus of 8,000+ resolved clinical questions
  • Brand, lifetime-price guarantees and existing member community
  • 37+ recorded trainings already curated and available

What remains hard

  • Proprietary dataArchivo de más de 8.000 preguntas clínicas resueltas — es como tener un libro de texto escrito por tus propios colegas con casos reales.

Build a minimal self-hosted mentorship Q&A web app using Next.js (React) + Node.js API + Postgres, host on AWS (EC2 or Elastic Beanstalk) with S3 for audio/storage. Implement: (1) user signup/login and Stripe subscription for one paid tier, (2) question submission form with file uploads stored in S3 and case records in Postgres, (3) mentor admin UI to assign cases, record or upload MP3 answers, and exchange messages, (4) generate a private authenticated podcast RSS feed and a web audio player per answer, (5) transactional emails via SendGrid for deliveries and notifications, (6) simple CMS page for monthly live session scheduling and archived trainings. Out of scope: training recommendation engine, moderator tools, mobile apps, scaling for large concurrent members. Include authentication, input validation, error handling, automated tests for API and main UI flows, and deployment scripts (IaC) for the chosen AWS stack.

How the score was reached

  • Partly verdict base52
  • 2 cited sources+1
  • Hard moats found in the evidence-3
  • Evidence score50

The base comes from the verdict. Everything under it is a check that either happened or did not, and each one is a fact frozen in this record rather than a judgement made at render time - so the same evidence always produces the same number.
