Scheduling and meetings decision
Sembly AI
A single developer can reproduce a basic meeting transcribe+summarize workflow, but Sembly's enterprise compliance, broad integrations, language coverage and audited security posture make the full commercial product hard to match without significant additional effort and expense.
Visit website↗Open-source builds that already do this
Every project below is open source and already does this job today. Fork one, self-host it, or take the parts you need — the build prompt further down assumes an empty file, and this is the shortcut past that. Licences differ; check the one on each card before you ship.
What a replacement has to do
- Record or upload meeting audio, produce a speaker‑aware transcript, extract action items/decisions, generate a summary/document via LLM, and store+search meeting artifacts.
What it still won’t have
- SOC 2 / enterprise compliance assurances and related audits
- Out-of-the-box integrations and enterprise automation (50+ tools, SSO, SMTP relay)
- HIPAA-ready and advanced enterprise features (audit logs, data residency SLAs)
- Polished UX, templates, and prebuilt multi-meeting insights/analytics at scale
- Language coverage and optimized confidence tuning across 40+ languages
What remains hard
- Compliance and regulation
Sembly is GDPR compliant and SOC 2 Type II certified.

The verdict above measures whether you could build it. This one is only about money.
Runnable build prompt
Build a minimal meeting-intelligence service in Node.js (Express) + Postgres + Elasticsearch + React web UI. Scope: (1) OAuth + bot integration to accept meeting audio uploads and a simple Zoom webhook; (2) asynchronous ASR pipeline using a cloud speech-to-text API with speaker diarization and transcript storage in Postgres; (3) transcript parser that extracts timestamps, speakers, actions, decisions, and topics; (4) LLM-backed document generator endpoint (use OpenAI or compatible API) with prompt templates for summaries, PRDs, and action-item lists; (5) full-text search over meetings via Elasticsearch and a small React app to view meetings, transcripts, summaries, and export documents. Out of scope: enterprise SSO, HIPAA/SOC2 audits, advanced analytics dashboards, and 50+ third-party integrations. Include error handling, retries for ASR/LLM calls, unit tests for parsing and generation logic, and deployment scripts for Docker on a single cloud VM.

How the score was reached
- Partly verdict base52
- An open-source build was found+5
- 5 cited sources+3
- Price verified on pricing page+3
- Hard moats found in the evidence-3
- Evidence score60
The base comes from the verdict. Everything under it is a check that either happened or did not, and each one is a fact frozen in this record rather than a judgement made at render time — so the same evidence always produces the same number.
