RealMarketAPI

A capable developer can build a useful self-hosted subset (live prices, history, WebSocket, basic indicators) using ccxt + QuestDB, but matching the commercial product's SLA, MCP tooling, SDK ecosystem, and enterprise guarantees is impractical without significant ops and legal work.

No open-source build does this yet

Nothing published replaces this one, so a replacement starts from an empty file. Here is what it would have to cover.

What a replacement has to do

  • Ingest live feeds from public exchange APIs, normalize and persist tick/OHLC data, serve current price and historical OHLC via REST and WebSocket, compute a few technical indicators on-demand, and enforce API-key authentication and request quotas.

What it still won’t have

  • Enterprise SLA (99.99% uptime and dedicated support)
  • Global managed infrastructure and CDN-backed endpoints
  • Quota-free MCP server and turnkey AI integrations
  • Official SDKs, widgets, and Chrome extension
  • Commercial-grade exchange connectivity guarantees and negotiated data agreements

What remains hard

  • Product polish and ongoing maintenance

Build a minimal self-hosted RealMarketAPI clone using Node.js (Express + ws), ccxt for exchange connectors, and QuestDB for time-series storage. Core features in scope: ingest live ticks and produce 1m OHLC, normalize symbols, persist ticks and OHLC, REST endpoints for current price and paginated historical H1/H1 (configurable), a WebSocket subscription endpoint pushing completed candles and ticks, on-demand SMA/EMA/RSI indicator endpoints, API-key auth with simple per-key rate limits, Dockerfiles for each service, and unit/integration tests. Out of scope: MCP protocol server, enterprise SLA, SDK libraries, multi-region CDN, commercial data licensing. Provide error handling, reconnect/backoff for exchange feeds, basic metrics (request counts, lag), and automated setup scripts (docker-compose).

  • Evidence score62

The base comes from the verdict. Everything under it is a check that either happened or did not, and each one is a fact frozen in this record rather than a judgement made at render time - so the same evidence always produces the same number.
