CRM and sales decision
Outseta
A single developer can build a useful, narrower membership workflow (auth + Stripe + CRM + email + tickets) in about a week and maintain it cheaply, but reproducing Outseta's polished product, deliverability, integrations, reporting, and long‑term maintenance is nontrivial—so keep paying for full parity unless you only need the narrow core.

Nothing published replaces this one, so a replacement starts from an empty file. Here is what it would have to cover.
Code Outseta publishes itself
Not a way out of the subscription - these are the vendor’s own repositories. Worth a look for how they build, and for anything you would have to integrate with.
What a replacement has to do
- A smallest useful replacement handles member signup & auth, accept payments/subscriptions, store and search member records (CRM), send transactional and campaign emails, and record/respond to support tickets.
What it still won’t have
- Polished, integrated UI and UX
- Email deliverability optimizations and analytics
- Built-in reporting and subscription metrics
- Ongoing product updates, documentation, and migrations
- Prebuilt integrations and branded embeds
What remains hard
- Product polish and ongoing maintenance
First-year cost
Keep paying
Paying is—cheaper in year one.
On cash alone, building overtakes the subscription at 1 seat.

What we assumed
The verdict above measures whether you could build it. This one is only about money.
Runnable build prompt
Build a minimal self‑hosted membership stack using Next.js (frontend + serverless API), Postgres (Supabase or managed Postgres), and Stripe for payments. In scope: (1) email/password + Google OAuth sign-up/login and session cookies, (2) Stripe customer creation, subscription & webhook handling, (3) a Postgres-backed CRM with contact, subscription status, and search, (4) transactional emails and simple drip campaigns via SendGrid/Mailgun, (5) a basic ticketing UI to create/answer support tickets, (6) simple gated content middleware that checks subscription status. Out of scope: multi-tenant admin panels, advanced analytics, in-app chat, or multi-currency receipts. Require webhook retry/error handling, input validation, auth tests, unit tests for payment flows, and end-to-end tests for signup → payment → gated content. Provide deployment scripts (Vercel or DigitalOcean), database migration scripts, and a README with setup and Stripe/SMTP config steps.

- 3/3 assessment runs agreed+4
- Evidence score62
The base comes from the verdict. Everything under it is a check that either happened or did not, and each one is a fact frozen in this record rather than a judgement made at render time - so the same evidence always produces the same number.
