AI assistants and search decision

OSM Tactics

A capable developer can build a useful web replacement for the core tactics, player search and simple AI coach, but reproducing live crew rankings, official synced player data, mobile apps, and product polish is likely impractical without access to OSM data or more engineering effort.

Not priced

No pricing page we fetched carried a figure, so there is nothing to compare against. The build side is still real.

You’d pay instead

$100one-off40 h to build

No published price to break even against.

No open-source build does this yet

Nothing published replaces this one, so a replacement starts from an empty file. Here is what it would have to cover.

What a replacement has to do

  • Set up a tactic on a board, get a counter-plan and sliders, search players, and save/load plans.

What it still won’t have

  • Polish and mobile apps (the site is a minimal web replacement)
  • Live crew rankings and real-time battle points feed
  • Potentially complete licensed or canonical OSM player dataset and sync with the official account
  • Scale, analytics and the product brand/community trust

What remains hard

  • Product polish and ongoing maintenance

Build a single-tenant web app (React frontend, Node.js/Express backend, PostgreSQL) that replicates the core OSM tactics workflow: 1) interactive tactics board with draggable player positions and slider controls and ability to save/load tactics; 2) a rule-based counter-plan engine that accepts opponent formation+rating and returns a recommended formation, slider settings, and 3–5 lines of reasoning; 3) a searchable player table (position, rating, age, league) with compare/shortlist; 4) screenshot upload endpoint that runs OCR (Tesseract) and sends structured text plus context to an LLM (OpenAI-compatible) to generate a screenshot review; 5) authentication (email or OAuth), basic user storage for tactics and shortlists. Out of scope: mobile apps, live crew rankings, integration with OSM private APIs or paid licensing. Include error handling, input validation, unit and integration tests for API endpoints, and deployment scripts (Docker + small cloud VM).

How the score was reached

  • Partly verdict base52
  • 3/3 assessment runs agreed+4
  • Evidence score56

The base comes from the verdict. Everything under it is a check that either happened or did not, and each one is a fact frozen in this record rather than a judgement made at render time - so the same evidence always produces the same number.
