AI assistants and search decision
AtomicBot.ai
Because Atomic Bot is fully open source and links its repository, a technical user can self-host the existing project (losing managed hosting, support, and included credits) rather than rebuild it from scratch.

Open-source builds that already do this
Every project below is open source and already does this job today. Fork one, self-host it, or take the parts you need - the build prompt further down assumes an empty file, and this is the shortcut past that. Licences differ; check the one on each card before you ship. All AtomicBot.ai alternatives, with the arithmetic →
What a replacement has to do
- Stand up the Atomic Bot (atomic-agent) server, connect an LLM provider, configure agent skills/MCP browser integration, and expose a UI or API to control agents.
What it still won’t have
- Managed cloud hosting and account management (easy upgrade/scale)
- Included AI credits ($5/mo in Base) and built-in priority support
- Atomic Bot's packaged installer and curated marketplace experience
What remains hard
- Product polish and ongoing maintenance

What we assumed
The verdict above measures whether you could build it. This one is only about money.
Runnable build prompt
Build a self-hosted deployment of Atomic Bot (atomic-agent) using Docker Compose on a single Ubuntu VM. Stack: Docker, Docker Compose, nginx (reverse proxy + Let's Encrypt), Postgres (if repository requires), and systemd for process supervision. In scope: clone https://github.com/AtomicBot-ai/atomic-agent, install and configure environment variables, wire at least one LLM provider (OpenAI or Gemini) via API key, enable MCP/browser integration, configure OAuth credentials for Gmail and Google Calendar, provision SSL via Certbot, and create a simple admin user and healthcheck endpoint. Out of scope: reimplementing the agent code, building a marketplace UI, and multi-tenant scaling. Deliverables must include reproducible install scripts (docker-compose.yml, env.example), documented setup steps, basic unit/integration tests for startup and health endpoints, and error handling/log rotation configuration.
How we checked
How the score was reached
- Self-host verdict base92
- An open-source build was found+5
- 3 cited sources+3
- Price verified on pricing page+3
- 1/1 assessment runs agreed+4
- Evidence score99
The base comes from the verdict. Everything under it is a check that either happened or did not, and each one is a fact frozen in this record rather than a judgement made at render time - so the same evidence always produces the same number.
