AI assistants and search decision

Me4U

A technical user can reproduce the basic chat + TTS experience and paywall in ~32 hours, but the product's durable value—authorized/verified creator personas and rights-managed voice/content—cannot be fully replicated without legal/licensing agreements and platform-level moderation.

These 2 projects are real, published, and do the core job — and this page still says keep paying. What the subscription buys is content rights and content rights, and none of that ships in a repository. Fork one anyway if you want to. Go in knowing what it does not carry. What stays hard ↓ · All Me4U alternatives, with the arithmetic →

What a replacement has to do

  • User sends a message (text or audio) → backend routes to the creator persona model and context store → model response returned as text and optional synthesized audio → delivered to user; paid gating for premium interactions.

What it still won’t have

  • Verified/legal authorization to impersonate real creators and rights to use celebrity voices
  • Scale, moderation pipeline, and platform-level abuse prevention
  • Marketplace and discoverability of creators built by Me4U
  • Polish around creator onboarding, legal workflows, and UX optimizations for many creators

What remains hard

  • Content rightsEngage in real conversations with the authorized personas of your favorite creators
  • Content rightsWe will create a fully customized AI version of you, so you don't have to create new content, or DM fans anymore.

Build a minimal creator-clone chat app using: Next.js (React) frontend, Postgres for user/creator metadata, S3-compatible object storage for voice assets, a Node.js/Express backend, and OpenAI-compatible LLMs for responses. Core features in scope: (1) user signup/login, creator profile pages, and a subscription/entitlement flag; (2) ingest creator persona text and short voice samples (admin UI), store them; (3) RAG pipeline that retrieves persona context and recent conversation turns, calls an LLM API to generate replies; (4) integrate a TTS provider to synthesize replies in the creator's voice (or a neutral voice if unavailable) and optional STT for incoming audio; (5) payment via Stripe to gate premium messaging/pay-per-view content; (6) a simple web chat UI supporting text and audio messages and playback. Out of scope: legal licensing workflows, creator discovery marketplace, large-scale moderation and content-rights verification. Provide structured error handling, retries for external API calls, tests for key backend routes and RAG logic, and a Docker Compose dev setup plus deployment notes for a single DigitalOcean VM or small AWS ECS service.

The base comes from the verdict. Everything under it is a check that either happened or did not, and each one is a fact frozen in this record rather than a judgement made at render time - so the same evidence always produces the same number.
