LogoFast

A one-person developer can reproduce the core LogoFast functionality (icon picker, styling, preview, export) in about a week using open-source icon sets; the vendor's hosted polish and curated presets are what you'd give up.

Open-source builds that already do this

Every project below is open source and already does this job today. Fork one, self-host it, or take the parts you need - the build prompt further down assumes an empty file, and this is the shortcut past that. Licences differ; check the one on each card before you ship. All LogoFast alternatives, with the arithmetic →

What a replacement has to do

  • Pick an icon, tweak size/rotation/color/border, preview on background, download PNG/SVG, save/load simple presets.

What it still won’t have

  • Integrated curated presets and bundled icon library ('Presets', 'Icons by Lucide' shown on site)
  • Hosted hosting, uptime, and ready-made polish of the vendor web UI
  • Any proprietary datasets or undisclosed features not shown on the pages

What remains hard

  • Product polish and ongoing maintenance

Runnable build prompt

Not run yet
Build a single-page React app (Vite + React) deployed to Vercel or Netlify that lets a user select an SVG icon from a local bundled icon set (use simple-icons), adjust size, rotation, fill color, fill opacity, border width/color, and background color, preview changes live, save/load simple presets to localStorage, and export a downloadable SVG and high-resolution PNG. Persist no server-side database (static JSON presets). Out of scope: AI logo generation, user accounts, payments, analytics. Include error handling for export failures, accessibility attributes, and unit/integration tests for the export and preset flows. Provide a Dockerfile for local builds and CI config to publish to Vercel/Netlify.

The base comes from the verdict. Everything under it is a check that either happened or did not, and each one is a fact frozen in this record rather than a judgement made at render time - so the same evidence always produces the same number.
