Learning and careers decision
LingQ Premium
A single developer can implement a useful subset (import, transcription, vocab saving, playback, SRS) in a multi‑week effort, but reproducing LingQ’s large lesson library, apps, community, and polish is impractical without substantial resources.

Nothing published replaces this one, so a replacement starts from an empty file. Here is what it would have to cover.
What a replacement has to do
- Provide an interface to import/read/listen to content, identify unknown words and save them, play synced audio and transcripts, and offer basic review (flashcards/SRS).
What it still won’t have
- Large curated lesson library and premium content
- Mobile apps distribution and app-store maintenance
- Polished UX and long-tail localization
- Community features, tutoring marketplace, points system
- Proprietary datasets and years of accumulated user data

Runnable build prompt
Build a minimal LingQ-style web service using Node.js (Express), Postgres, and React. Core features in scope: user signup/login, import a URL or upload text/audio into a lesson, call a third-party transcription/translation API to produce transcript and translation, store lessons and saved words in Postgres, show synchronized audio+text player with word-highlighting, allow users to mark/save unknown words and run a basic spaced-repetition flashcard review, and a dashboard showing lesson progress and words learned. Out of scope: mobile apps, large curated lesson library, paid subscription billing, community/tutoring marketplace. Include error handling for failed API calls, input validation, and unit/integration tests for import, transcription integration, DB models, and the playback UI.
How we checked
How the score was reached
- Partly verdict base52
- 2 cited sources+1
- Price verified on pricing page+3
- Evidence score56
The base comes from the verdict. Everything under it is a check that either happened or did not, and each one is a fact frozen in this record rather than a judgement made at render time — so the same evidence always produces the same number.
