Finance and accounting decision

BeeL.

A technically capable developer can build a narrowly useful replacement (API + PDF generation + AEAT validation + Stripe mapping), but reproducing BeeL.'s legal assurances, certified Verifactu handling at scale, SDK/CLI polish and enterprise support is not realistic without the vendor's compliance and operational commitments.

Open-source builds that already do this

Every project below is open source and already does this job today. Fork one, self-host it, or take the parts you need - the build prompt further down assumes an empty file, and this is the shortcut past that. Licences differ; check the one on each card before you ship. All BeeL. alternatives, with the arithmetic →

What a replacement has to do

  • Accept invoice request (JSON) -> validate recipient NIF against AEAT -> calculate taxes/totals -> persist invoice & generate PDF+QR -> submit to Verifactu (AEAT) -> send invoice email and emit signed webhooks / Stripe sync.

What it still won’t have

  • Official Verifactu/AEAT certification, legal warranty and audit support provided by vendor
  • Polish of vendor SDKs, CLI, and Claude Code plugin that auto-writes integrations
  • Enterprise support, SLA, and negotiated multi-NIF pricing and onboarding assistance
  • Tight Stripe one‑click managed integration and production-hardened edge cases already handled

What remains hard

  • Product polish and ongoing maintenance

Runnable build prompt

Not run yet
Build a minimal Spanish Verifactu-compatible invoicing API using Node.js (TypeScript), Postgres, and Puppeteer-based PDF generation. Core features in scope: REST endpoint to create idempotent invoices (JSON) with customer lookup, NIF validation against AEAT census, VAT/IRPF/IGIC calculation rules, chained invoice numbering and QR generation, generate and store PDF invoices, queue submission to Verifactu with retries and webhook handling for acceptance events, send invoice email, and a Stripe webhook adapter that converts charges to invoices. Out of scope: formal Verifactu certification processes, enterprise SLA/support, multi-tenant billing plans UI. Include HMAC-signed webhooks, CLI utilities for sandbox testing, logging, comprehensive error handling, and unit/integration tests for tax logic, PDF output, and Verifactu submission flows.

How the score was reached

  • An open-source build was found+5
  • 3 cited sources+3
  • 3/3 assessment runs agreed+4
  • Evidence score64

The base comes from the verdict. Everything under it is a check that either happened or did not, and each one is a fact frozen in this record rather than a judgement made at render time - so the same evidence always produces the same number.
