Customer support decision
ADELANTE LTD
A capable engineer can build a narrow WISMO/returns workflow replacement in about a week using existing LLMs and integrations (prior art exists), but matching Adelante’s full managed product (SOC2, multi-channel integrations, continuous vendor-run tuning) is harder to replicate alone.
Visit website↗Open-source builds that already do this
Every project below is open source and already does this job today. Fork one, self-host it, or take the parts you need — the build prompt further down assumes an empty file, and this is the shortcut past that. Licences differ; check the one on each card before you ship.
What a replacement has to do
- Accept customer message, fetch order/context from helpdesk+store, decide action via LLM, call store/helpdesk APIs to perform/update (order status, address change, start return), write outcome back to helpdesk thread and log for monitoring.
What it still won’t have
- Managed implementation, ongoing QA tuning, and weekly optimization
- SOC 2 / GDPR compliance assurance maintained by vendor
- Multi-channel integrations and unlimited integrations offered by the vendor
- 30-day money-back guarantee and vendor SLA/ops
What remains hard
- Compliance and regulation
SOC 2 Type II and GDPR compliance
- Execution quality

Runnable build prompt
Build a minimal managed AI ecommerce support agent using Node.js (Express) + Postgres + a serverless worker (e.g., Vercel/AWS Lambda) and OpenAI-compatible LLM API. In scope: (1) webhook to ingest tickets from one helpdesk (Zendesk/Gorgias), (2) connectors to Shopify to fetch order and to perform order edits/returns, (3) an LLM orchestration service that maps ticket text+order context to a safe action with confidence gating, (4) executor that calls store/helpdesk APIs and writes structured audit logs to Postgres, (5) a simple staff UI to review handoffs and retry failed actions. Out of scope: multi-channel routing beyond the chosen helpdesk, SOC 2 certification, payment processing, and enterprise-grade scaling. Include auth, retries, error handling, unit tests for core modules, and end-to-end tests for the WISMO (where-is-my-order) workflow.

- Evidence score64
The base comes from the verdict. Everything under it is a check that either happened or did not, and each one is a fact frozen in this record rather than a judgement made at render time — so the same evidence always produces the same number.
