WA School Reports alternatives
2 open-source projects that already do this job. Free to use - not free to run, which is what the numbers on the right are for.
The projects
langchain-ai/local-deep-researcherLocal web research and report writing assistant — can generate drafts from prompts but not WA curriculum-specific product UI.Open on GitHub ↗zi-yue-1129/DATAGENAI-driven multi-agent research assistant for hypothesis generation and report writing; could be adapted for automated draft generation but lacks teacher workspace and token commerce.Open on GitHub ↗
What you give up either way
- SCSA-tuned prompt library and ongoing prompt improvements
- Token commerce UI/UX polish and one-off purchase UX
- Priority support and teacher-facing content (guides, examples) produced by the vendor
- Any site-specific moderation or legal review carried out by the vendor
An open-source project doing the core job proves a replacement is possible. It does not prove it matches WA School Reports, and it does not prove anyone has run it for a month. How we decide.
