Writing and content decision

Wordgenie

A capable developer can reproduce the core workflow (generate, humanize, schedule and publish to WordPress) in about a week, but the full product value relies on polished integrations, bundled model access, and product polish that are expensive to replicate.

Open-source builds that already do this

Every project below is open source and already does this job today. Fork one, self-host it, or take the parts you need - the build prompt further down assumes an empty file, and this is the shortcut past that. Licences differ; check the one on each card before you ship. All Wordgenie alternatives, with the arithmetic →

What a replacement has to do

  • Accept a topic/keyword ➜ generate long-form SEO content via model API ➜ humanize/check AI-detection ➜ schedule and publish to WordPress ➜ track keyword rank

What it still won’t have

  • Polished, product-grade UI/UX and lifetime-plan handling
  • Bundled proprietary model access and vendor support
  • Additional CMS integrations advertised as “soon” (Ghost, Webflow)
  • Enterprise bulk API and built-in image/video generation beta features

What remains hard

  • Product polish and ongoing maintenance

Runnable build prompt

Not run yet
Build a minimal AI SEO content service using PostgreSQL, Node.js (Express) backend, React frontend, and a worker (cron) for scheduled tasks. Core features in scope: 1) endpoint to generate long-form articles via OpenAI/Anthropic API with templating; 2) simple editor UI showing title, body, metadata and a monthly content calendar view; 3) publish/schedule posts to WordPress via WP REST API with retry/error handling and publish status; 4) humanization step that re-invokes the model with a humanize prompt and an AI-detection check; 5) a scheduled keyword-rank checker that stores daily SERP positions. Out of scope: billing UI, lifetime-plan purchase flow, Shopify/Ghost/Webflow integrations, image/video generation. Include input validation, error handling, logging, unit tests for API routes, and an end-to-end test that simulates generation → schedule → publish. Provide Docker Compose for local dev and a short README for deploying to a single small VPS.

How the score was reached

  • Partly verdict base52
  • An open-source build was found+5
  • 4 cited sources+3
  • Price verified on pricing page+3
  • Evidence score63

The base comes from the verdict. Everything under it is a check that either happened or did not, and each one is a fact frozen in this record rather than a judgement made at render time - so the same evidence always produces the same number.
