VERIFYID

A competent developer can build a working age-check flow and plugins, but the vendor's compliance, official MitID/AltID partnership, insurance, and managed/legal assurances are durable advantages that are hard to replicate, so consider building a limited in-house workflow but keep paying for the full certified service.

No open-source build does this yet

Nothing published replaces this one, so a replacement starts from an empty file. Here is what it would have to cover.

What a replacement has to do

  • When a shopper reaches an age-restricted checkout or page, trigger a MitID verification flow, receive verification result via webhook, allow or block the purchase/page, and record the verification for audit/compliance.

What it still won’t have

  • Official MitID/AltID partnership, contracts, and certification
  • Insurance and being the official data-controller service
  • Turnkey plug-and-play support and managed installation
  • Guaranteed compliance/legal assurances and liability handling

What remains hard

  • Integration maintenanceWooCommerce Shopify PrestaShop WordPress Magento Wix Squarespace Custom CMS
  • Brand trustJa, vi er forsikret med en IT-Produktansvarsforsikring hos IF - Se vores forsikringsbevis HER
  • Compliance and regulationVores system overholder alle relevante databeskyttelseslove og -regler.

Build a minimal MitID-based age verification service: use Node.js + Express for the backend, Postgres for storage, React for a small admin UI, and a simple JS embed/snippet for storefronts. Implement MitID OAuth/web verification flow and webhook handling, enforce 16/18 age rules, record verification results, expose REST endpoints for Shopify/WooCommerce plugins, and provide installer scripts for plugin integration. Out of scope: AltID integration, liability/insurance, and official MitID partnership/certification. Include error handling, logging, and unit+integration tests; provide deployment docs (Docker, Compose, and an AWS/GCP hosting guide).

How the score was reached

  • Partly verdict base52
  • 3/3 assessment runs agreed+4
  • Hard moats found in the evidence-3
  • Evidence score53

The base comes from the verdict. Everything under it is a check that either happened or did not, and each one is a fact frozen in this record rather than a judgement made at render time - so the same evidence always produces the same number.
