Valideo
A single developer can build a useful self-hosted replacement for core report generation and delivery, but reproducing Valideo's native mobile polish, onboarding service, and product-grade app-store distribution is time-consuming and operationally heavier than a minimal DIY service.

Open-source builds that already do this
Every project below is open source and already does this job today. Fork one, self-host it, or take the parts you need - the build prompt further down assumes an empty file, and this is the shortcut past that. Licences differ; check the one on each card before you ship. All Valideo alternatives, with the arithmetic →
What a replacement has to do
- Select client → fill mobile form (photos, GPS, checkboxes) → generate signed PDF from template → send by email
What it still won’t have
- Mobile-app store distribution and polished native UX
- Onboarding and template-creation service offered by vendor
- Polish, analytics, and iterative UX improvements from a dedicated team
- App-store reviews/trust and existing customer base
What remains hard
- Product polish and ongoing maintenance

Runnable build prompt
Build a minimal self-hosted replacement as a mobile-friendly web app and optional Android/iOS wrappers using React (React Native or Expo for mobile), Node.js + Express, PostgreSQL, and S3-compatible object storage. Core features in scope: (1) an admin template editor (define fields, checkboxes, photo slots, logo and footer), (2) mobile form UI to select a client, capture GPS and timestamped photos, and fill fields, (3) server-side PDF generation from templates (merge text, embed photos and signature) using a library like PDFLib or Puppeteer, (4) capture touch/camera signature and embed in PDF, (5) user authentication, client CRUD, and role management, (6) send generated PDF via transactional email (e.g., SMTP, Postmark, Mailgun). Out of scope: native App Store publishing and paid onboarding services. Require input validation, retries for uploads/email, transactional integrity for report creation, logging, and unit/integration tests for API endpoints and PDF generation.

How the score was reached
- Partly verdict base52
- An open-source build was found+5
- 5 cited sources+3
- 3/3 assessment runs agreed+4
- Evidence score64
The base comes from the verdict. Everything under it is a check that either happened or did not, and each one is a fact frozen in this record rather than a judgement made at render time - so the same evidence always produces the same number.
