*** Truth or Dare

A small technical user can recreate the core prompt-serving and paywall as a web/PWA in about a week, but reproducing the native iOS App Store distribution, existing curated content volume, and platform in‑app purchase polish would be harder to fully match.

No published price to break even against.

No open-source build does this yet

Nothing published replaces this one, so a replacement starts from an empty file. Here is what it would have to cover.

What a replacement has to do

  • Randomly show a truth or dare prompt filtered by chosen intensity and recipient, let players accept/skip, and track used prompts to avoid repetition.

What it still won’t have

  • Native iOS App Store presence and discoverability
  • Built-in Apple In‑App Purchase / subscription flows and platform trust
  • Polished native UI/UX and platform integrations (notifications, in‑app review)
  • Existing curated task library and ongoing content updates maintained by the vendor
  • Existing user ratings and brand history

What remains hard

  • Product polish and ongoing maintenance

Runnable build prompt

Not run yet
Build a minimal Truth-or-Dare couples web app (React frontend, Node/Express backend, SQLite) that: 1) imports a CSV/JSON of prompts with metadata (level, recipient), 2) presents a responsive UI for selecting level and player roles, 3) randomly serves non-repeating prompts per session, 4) implements a Stripe subscription gating unlock endpoint and simple account handling, 5) includes analytics (Google Analytics) and error reporting, and 6) has unit tests for prompt selection and subscription flows. Out of scope: native iOS App Store packaging, multiplayer realtime syncing, and advanced moderation tools. Provide error handling, logging, and basic deployment scripts for a $10/month VPS or Netlify + serverless functions.

How the score was reached

  • Partly verdict base52
  • Evidence score52

The base comes from the verdict. Everything under it is a check that either happened or did not, and each one is a fact frozen in this record rather than a judgement made at render time - so the same evidence always produces the same number.
