Documents and notes decision
Tango
A capable technical user can build a useful internal tool that records steps, generates annotated guides, and exports them, but reproducing Tango's enterprise polish (SSO/SCIM, PII redaction, automations, analytics, and cross-platform capture) and scaled extension maintenance is non-trivial — keep paying for those capabilities.

Nothing published replaces this one, so a replacement starts from an empty file. Here is what it would have to cover.
What a replacement has to do
- Record a user's clicks/screens, capture screenshots and metadata, generate step-by-step text and annotated images, store workflows, and replay/highlight guide overlays in the browser.
What it still won’t have
- Enterprise features (SSO, SCIM, audit logs, 365-day history)
- Secure/automatic PII detection & redaction
- Built-in browser + desktop capture polishing and cross-platform support
- Pins, Guide Me, and managed Automations
- Workspace analytics, versioned history, and priority support
What remains hard
- Brand trust

Runnable build prompt
Build a self-hosted minimal workflow-capture and guide system using: React for the editor UI, a Chrome/Edge browser extension (Manifest V3) for capture and overlay, Node.js + Express backend, Postgres for storage, and Puppeteer for optional automation playback. In scope: extension that records click/DOM events and screenshots, backend APIs to save/load workflows, web editor to edit step text and annotate images, export to PDF and Markdown, and overlay player to replay steps in the page. Out of scope: enterprise SSO/SCIM, multi-path workflows, translation, automatic PII redaction, and hosted analytics. Include error handling for failed uploads and corrupt screenshots, and unit/integration tests for API endpoints and extension-background messaging.

How the score was reached
- Partly verdict base52
- 3 cited sources+3
- Price verified on pricing page+3
- Evidence score58
The base comes from the verdict. Everything under it is a check that either happened or did not, and each one is a fact frozen in this record rather than a judgement made at render time - so the same evidence always produces the same number.
