Sober Tracker

A single technical person can build and maintain a privacy-first, on-device sobriety tracker using existing open-source habit-tracker projects as reference; the full published polish and any paid/premium extras are the main things you'll forgo.

No open-source build does this yet

Nothing published replaces this one, so a replacement starts from an empty file. Here is what it would have to cover.

What a replacement has to do

  • Open app → mark a sober day or reset after relapse → see garden growth and streaks → log mood and view financial savings and achievements.

What it still won’t have

  • Polish of a paid product (refined animations, artwork, and UI microcopy)
  • Any proprietary premium features or paid support offered by the vendor
  • App store listing and ongoing marketing/support the vendor provides
  • Anonymous usage analytics the vendor collects for product improvement

What remains hard

  • Product polish and ongoing maintenance

Build a privacy-first cross-platform mobile sobriety tracker using Flutter + SQLite (or Room on Android if native). Core features in scope: local-only storage (no accounts/cloud), sober-day counter with relapse/reset, recovery garden UI with 9 growth stages, 30+ achievement system, financial tracker with category breakdowns and compound interest projections, daily mood journal with simple charts, and an in-app local premium unlock. Out of scope: server/cloud sync, social features, remote analytics. Require robust local encryption for stored data, input validation, full error handling, unit and widget tests for core flows (counter, persistence, finance calculations), and CI that runs tests on push.

How the score was reached

  • Partly verdict base52
  • Evidence score52

The base comes from the verdict. Everything under it is a check that either happened or did not, and each one is a fact frozen in this record rather than a judgement made at render time - so the same evidence always produces the same number.
