Automation and integrations decision

RESELLIFY

A single developer can reproduce the core Depop automation (Chrome extension + simple scheduler) in ~36 hours and maintain it; no durable moats are visible on the vendor pages so building is realistic and likely cheaper than paying long-term.

Open-source builds that already do this

Every project below is open source and already does this job today. Fork one, self-host it, or take the parts you need - the build prompt further down assumes an empty file, and this is the shortcut past that. Licences differ; check the one on each card before you ship. All RESELLIFY alternatives, with the arithmetic →

What a replacement has to do

  • User installs a Chrome extension that runs scheduled DOM actions (bump, relist, like, follow) against Depop pages and stores task history locally.

What it still won’t have

  • Hosted multi-device sync and server-side analytics (unless you self-host the optional backend)
  • Official support SLA and ongoing feature rollout
  • Cross-platform apps (mobile) and integrations beyond Depop
  • Legal/terms & account-risk handling provided by the vendor

What remains hard

  • Product polish and ongoing maintenance

Runnable build prompt

Not run yet
Build a Chrome extension (Manifest v3) with an optional small Node.js/Express backend (Postgres or SQLite) for optional sync. In scope: content scripts that detect Depop item/feed pages and perform bump, relist, like, and follow actions with randomized human-like delays; a background scheduler to queue and run tasks at configurable intervals; a popup/options UI to create/manage tasks, view run history and task analytics; store tasks and history in chrome.storage (and optional backend endpoints for account sync). Out of scope: cross-listing to other marketplaces, mobile apps, training ML models. Include error handling for DOM changes and network failures, unit/integration tests for scheduler and action modules, and basic CI to run tests.

The base comes from the verdict. Everything under it is a check that either happened or did not, and each one is a fact frozen in this record rather than a judgement made at render time - so the same evidence always produces the same number.
