Automation and integrations decision
Repurpose.io
A single developer can build a narrow repurposing workflow (one source, one destination, resizing, scheduling) in ~one week, but reproducing Repurpose.io’s wide integration surface, official partner status, scale, and polished product experience is non-trivial — keep paying for full-platform coverage.

Every project below is open source and already does this job today. Fork one, self-host it, or take the parts you need — the build prompt further down assumes an empty file, and this is the shortcut past that. Licences differ; check the one on each card before you ship.
What a replacement has to do
- Ingest a source media item (YouTube/TikTok/Instagram), transcode/resize/clip it per destination, attach or generate captions/copy, and publish/schedule to destination platform APIs while optionally saving a backup.
What it still won’t have
- Official partner integrations and frictionless OAuth approvals
- Large catalogue of platform connectors (many social networks)
- Scale reliability and multi-tenant throughput (thousands of videos/day)
- Polished UI, onboarding, and templates
- Advanced features like watermark removal and image/carousel repurposing across many platforms
What remains hard
- Product polish and ongoing maintenance

What we assumed
The verdict above measures whether you could build it. This one is only about money.
Runnable build prompt
Build a minimal content-repurposing service using Node.js (Express), PostgreSQL, AWS S3, and a worker pool (BullMQ) for processing. Implement: 1) OAuth connector for YouTube (source) and one destination (Twitter/X) to fetch and publish media; 2) media ingestion + store originals in S3; 3) ffmpeg-based worker to transcode/resize and produce a destination-ready clip; 4) scheduler to publish immediately or at a chosen time with retrying; 5) simple UI (React) to create a workflow mapping source→transform→destination and show task logs. Out of scope: multi-account management beyond one account per platform, webhooks for every social network, watermark removal, and large-scale multi-tenant orchestration. Include error handling, retries, unit tests for API endpoints, and an integration test that uploads a sample video, processes it, and posts a mock publish (use sandbox/test API keys).

How the score was reached
- Partly verdict base52
- An open-source build was found+5
- 5 cited sources+3
- Price verified on pricing page+3
- 3/3 assessment runs agreed+4
- Evidence score67
The base comes from the verdict. Everything under it is a check that either happened or did not, and each one is a fact frozen in this record rather than a judgement made at render time — so the same evidence always produces the same number.
