Nextaitool
A small technical user can build and run a searchable directory like Next AI Tool in about a week; nothing on the supplied pages indicates an unreplicable moat or proprietary data that would prevent a rebuild.

Not priced
No pricing page we fetched carried a figure, so there is nothing to compare against. The build side is still real.
$100one-off36 h to build
$20/mo3 h/mo upkeep
No published price to break even against.
No open-source build does this yet
Nothing published replaces this one, so a replacement starts from an empty file. Here is what it would have to cover.
What a replacement has to do
- Index AI tools, render searchable directory pages, accept tool submissions, and send/maintain a newsletter.
What it still won’t have
- brand recognition and organic traffic the site currently has
- any proprietary editorial curation or existing publisher relationships
- user metrics, analytics history, and newsletter subscriber list unless migrated
What remains hard
- Product polish and ongoing maintenance
First-year cost
No published price
Nextaitool does not publish a price we could read, so there is nothing to compare against. What building costs is below.

Runnable build prompt
Build a searchable AI-tools directory using Next.js (React) + Postgres + Node.js. Core features in scope: static+incremental-render public listing pages for tools, category and tag pages, site search via Meilisearch or Postgres full-text, a submission form that stores proposals in Postgres and emails admin via SendGrid, an admin UI to review/approve/edit listings, and a weekly newsletter export of approved tools. Out of scope: training or hosting ML models, full editorial migration of existing content. Include error handling, input validation, automated tests for scraper, API endpoints, and CI deploy config (Vercel or DigitalOcean).
How we checked
How the score was reached
- Build verdict base78
- 2 cited sources+1
- 3/3 assessment runs agreed+4
- Evidence score83
The base comes from the verdict. Everything under it is a check that either happened or did not, and each one is a fact frozen in this record rather than a judgement made at render time - so the same evidence always produces the same number.
