Launch Llama Tools
A single competent developer can build a minimal submit-and-promote listing site in about a week and maintain it cheaply, though they will not get the hosted product's existing audience or brand.

No pricing page we fetched carried a figure, so there is nothing to compare against. The build side is still real.

No published price to break even against.
No open-source build does this yet
Nothing published replaces this one, so a replacement starts from an empty file. Here is what it would have to cover.
What a replacement has to do
- Accept startup submissions, list them publicly, and provide simple promotion/sharing hooks to drive user signups.
What it still won’t have
- Existing audience and organic traffic that the hosted product provides
- Any curated discovery, community effects, or editorial promotion the vendor runs
- Brand and trust associated with the hosted platform
- Built-in moderation workflows and historical data/metrics from the vendor
What remains hard
- Product polish and ongoing maintenance
First-year cost
No published price
Launch Llama Tools does not publish a price we could read, so there is nothing to compare against. What building costs is below.

The verdict above measures whether you could build it. This one is only about money.
Runnable build prompt
Build a small web app (Next.js + Tailwind, Node backend, Postgres DB, Docker) that lets founders submit a startup listing, stores submissions in Postgres, provides an admin moderation UI, renders public listing and detail pages with search/filter, and offers promotion actions (send announcement email via SendGrid-compatible SMTP and generate social share links or integrate with a social-posting API). Out of scope: building or reproducing the vendor's audience, complex recommendation algorithms, paid ad-network integrations. Include input validation, rate-limiting/anti-spam, automated tests for APIs, basic CI, error handling, and a Docker-based deployment manifest for one cloud host.
How we checked
How the score was reached
- Build verdict base78
- Evidence score78
The base comes from the verdict. Everything under it is a check that either happened or did not, and each one is a fact frozen in this record rather than a judgement made at render time - so the same evidence always produces the same number.
