HeightMax - Grow Taller

A competent developer can build a basic height estimator, plan generator, and tracker; reproducing the full polished native app (AR measurement, in-app AI coach, and App Store presence) is nontrivial, so keeping the paid app makes sense for production polish and features.

No open-source build does this yet

Nothing published replaces this one, so a replacement starts from an empty file. Here is what it would have to cover.

What a replacement has to do

  • Collect user profile & family height data → estimate height potential (model/rules) → generate a personalized 90-day plan → let user log daily habits and heights → show trend analytics and send reminders.

What it still won’t have

  • Polished native iOS UI/UX and App Store distribution
  • AR-assisted height measurement and device-specific measurement tooling
  • Existing user base, reviews, and in-app scientific reference content
  • Polished AI coach/ML models and any in-app proprietary tuning

What remains hard

  • Product polish and ongoing maintenance

Build a minimal web replacement for HeightMax using Next.js (React) frontend, Node.js/Express API, Postgres DB, and Redis for scheduled jobs. Core features in scope: 1) user signup and profile with parental heights and puberty stage, 2) a height-prediction endpoint that implements a simple rule-based model (or small scikit-learn regression) using family heights + lifestyle inputs, 3) a 90-day plan generator producing daily checklist items from templates and personalization rules, 4) endpoints and UI for daily habit and height logging, trend analytics charts (charting lib), and 5) scheduled reminder delivery (email via SendGrid and push via Firebase). Out of scope: AR-assisted measurements, native iOS app, paid subscription billing integration. Require input validation, error handling, basic unit and integration tests, and Docker-based deployment manifests for a single VPS.

  • Evidence score59

The base comes from the verdict. Everything under it is a check that either happened or did not, and each one is a fact frozen in this record rather than a judgement made at render time - so the same evidence always produces the same number.
