Build a minimal self-hosted observability stack on Kubernetes using Prometheus + Thanos (metrics), Jaeger (traces), Loki (logs), Grafana (dashboards), and Alertmanager (alerts). Include: (1) OpenTelemetry collector manifests and a lightweight DaemonSet agent for Linux hosts, (2) an ingestion pipeline writing metrics to Prometheus remote_write and long-term storage in Thanos, (3) log collection with Promtail -> Loki and basic indexing, (4) prebuilt Grafana dashboards for host CPU/memory, HTTP latency, and error-rate, (5) Alertmanager rules for high CPU, error rate, and SLO breaches with Slack and PagerDuty webhooks. Out of scope: multi-tenant SaaS hosting, enterprise-grade scalability beyond a single K8s cluster, and advanced security products. Provide CI manifests, Helm charts, automated tests for collectors and alert rules, and error handling/logging for collectors and ingestion endpoints.
