Customer support decision
Changelogfy
A capable developer can replicate the core feedback + roadmap functionality (and open-source alternatives exist), but reproducing the full hosted product experience (AI features, polished integrations, migrations, multi-language SEO hosting, and notifications at scale) is a larger effort.

Every project below is open source and already does this job today. Fork one, self-host it, or take the parts you need - the build prompt further down assumes an empty file, and this is the shortcut past that. What a replacement has to do
- Collect user feedback via embeddable widgets, store and dedupe requests, let users vote/comment, prioritize into a roadmap, publish changelog entries and knowledge base articles
What it still won’t have
- Hosted managed product with polished UI/UX and onboarding
- Built-in automatic migration from many commercial platforms
- Branded email deliverability, analytics dashboard and built-in SEO hosting
- Commercial support, uptime SLA, and ongoing product polish
What remains hard
- Product polish and ongoing maintenance

Runnable build prompt
Build a minimal self-hosted Changelogfy-like app using React for the frontend, Next.js (for SEO and static pages), PostgreSQL, a Node/Express API server, and Redis for queues. Implement: 1) an embeddable JS feedback widget that calls secured API endpoints to create feedback items; 2) backend models for users, feedback items, votes, comments, tags and roadmap entries in Postgres; 3) admin React dashboard to view, tag, merge duplicates, rank by votes and publish roadmap items; 4) static/dynamic public changelog and knowledge-base pages with i18n and custom-domain support; 5) an in-app help widget and full-text search (Postgres tsvector or Meilisearch); 6) simple integrations: Jira and GitHub issue create/sync via webhook handlers; 7) scheduled email notifications for upvoted users and release announcements using an SMTP provider; include error handling, input validation, unit tests for core API routes, and CI that runs tests and lints. Out of scope: enterprise SSO flows (beyond OAuth), advanced AI duplicate detection/model training, and multi-tenant billing. Provide Docker Compose for local dev and a deployment guide to a small VPS or managed host.
How we checked
How the score was reached
- Partly verdict base52
- An open-source build was found+5
- 4 cited sources+3
- 3/3 assessment runs agreed+4
- Evidence score64
The base comes from the verdict. Everything under it is a check that either happened or did not, and each one is a fact frozen in this record rather than a judgement made at render time - so the same evidence always produces the same number.
