Audio and podcasting decision
Bluedot
A small team can reproduce the core transcription+summary workflow and basic web UI, but reproducing Bluedot’s multi-platform capture apps, enterprise compliance posture (SOC 2), broad integrations, and brand scale would be costly—so building is practical for a narrow workflow but not a full replacement.

Every project below is open source and already does this job today. Fork one, self-host it, or take the parts you need — the build prompt further down assumes an empty file, and this is the shortcut past that. Licences differ; check the one on each card before you ship.
What a replacement has to do
- Record or upload meeting audio → speech-to-text transcription with speaker segments → generate structured meeting summary, action items and searchable transcript → store and share via web UI and webhooks/CRM integrations.
What it still won’t have
- Chrome extension, desktop and mobile capture apps (bot-free inline capture across platforms)
- SOC 2 audited compliance and enterprise security guarantees
- Brand trust and enterprise customer base / SLAs
- Polished integrations and wide import support (Zoom/Google Drive/CRM/ATS connectors)
- Multi-language, large-scale operational transcription at low marginal cost
What remains hard
- Compliance and regulation
GDPR compliant SOC 2 audited
- Brand trust

Runnable build prompt
Build a minimal bot-free meeting note service using Node.js (Express) + React, PostgreSQL, and S3. In scope: (1) upload MP3/MP4 and store files in S3, (2) transcribe audio with a cloud STT API (or open-source Whisper) including speaker diarization, (3) call an LLM to generate structured summary, action items, and tags, (4) simple web UI to list recordings, play audio, view transcript and summary, (5) implement a webhook endpoint to POST summaries to third-party apps. Out of scope: Chrome extension, native desktop/mobile apps, SOC2 audit, and enterprise SSO/SCIM. Include error handling for failed transcriptions, retries for LLM calls, rate limiting on uploads, unit tests for core transforms, and end-to-end tests for upload→transcript→summary flow.

How the score was reached
- Partly verdict base52

- Price verified on pricing page+3
- Hard moats found in the evidence-3
- Evidence score60
The base comes from the verdict. Everything under it is a check that either happened or did not, and each one is a fact frozen in this record rather than a judgement made at render time — so the same evidence always produces the same number.
