Health, home and travel decision
Biberon
A single capable engineer can reproduce the core local-first tracker and minimal pairing with modest hosting; prior open-source projects (babybuddy) show the domain is implementable, so building is realistic and cheaper than depending on vendor-only features like polished app-store presence.

Open-source builds that already do this
Every project below is open source and already does this job today. Fork one, self-host it, or take the parts you need - the build prompt further down assumes an empty file, and this is the shortcut past that. Licences differ; check the one on each card before you ship. All Biberon alternatives, with the arithmetic →
What a replacement has to do
- Log feed/diaper/weight/temperature events locally, view a per-day journal and weight chart, optionally share history with another parent via family code/QR.
What it still won’t have
- Polished, curated mobile-store listings and app-review handling
- The vendor's bilingual copy, ongoing UX polish and accessibility testing
- 100% free branding and trust (discoverability in app stores)
- Fully offline-first behavior edge-cases and battle-tested sync conflict resolution
- Ongoing analytics/telemetry and user support channels
What remains hard
- Product polish and ongoing maintenance

The verdict above measures whether you could build it. This one is only about money.
Runnable build prompt
Build a local-first baby tracker PWA + native wrappers using React (React Native or Capacitor), SQLite (react-native-sqlite-storage) on mobile and IndexedDB for web, and a tiny Node/Express relay for device pairing. Scope in: thumb-optimized event entry UI for feeds/diapers/weight/temperature/notes; local storage schema and migrations; daily journal view and weight charts (client-side charting library); pairing flow (generate family code + QR, relay server to exchange events and acknowledge receipts), background sync and basic conflict resolution, PWA manifest and Android/iOS build scripts. Out of scope: analytics dashboards, multi-user roles, payment processing. Include input validation, error handling, unit tests for storage/sync logic, and CI for builds.

How the score was reached
- Partly verdict base52
- An open-source build was found+5
- 2 cited sources+1
- 3/3 assessment runs agreed+4
- Evidence score62
The base comes from the verdict. Everything under it is a check that either happened or did not, and each one is a fact frozen in this record rather than a judgement made at render time - so the same evidence always produces the same number.
