ApexVol
Keep paying for ApexVol if you need the full multi-ticker institutional feed and dozens of specialized modules; a single-ticker terminal with core Greeks and a strategy lab is buildable by a competent engineer but won't match the data quality, breadth of tickers, or the 51-module terminal.

No open-source build does this yet
Nothing published replaces this one, so a replacement starts from an empty file. Here is what it would have to cover.
What a replacement has to do
- Select a ticker → load live chain and Greeks → build a multi-leg strategy → view payoff, PoP and Greeks over price/expiry → optionally run a simple screener
What it still won’t have
- Institutional-grade options data feed and the claim of 'the same source used by hedge funds and market makers'
- Full catalogue of 5,500+ tickers and 365-day historical snapshots at scale
- All 51 terminal modules, saved multi-pane workspaces and Pro-only analytics (time machine, vol arb, advanced scanners)
- Turnkey REST/MCP API access and priority support included with paid plans
What remains hard
- Proprietary data
Built on an institutional-grade data feed — the same source used by hedge funds and options market makers.
- Proprietary data
Every number in ApexVol comes from an institutional-grade options data feed — the same kind trusted by quantitative funds and market makers.

The verdict above measures whether you could build it. This one is only about money.
Runnable build prompt
Build a single-ticker options terminal using Next.js (React) for the frontend, Python (FastAPI) for backend compute, Postgres for storage, and Redis for short-term cache. Scope in: ingest an options chain for one ticker at ~10s refresh (mock or a public options API), compute per-contract Black-Scholes Greeks and aggregated dealer-GEX per strike, a one-page multi-pane UI (chain grid, IV surface plot via Plotly, payoff diagram for multi-leg strategies), a strategy lab supporting up to 4 legs with PoP and breakeven calculations, and a basic screener filtering by IV rank and VRP. Scope out: market-wide scanners, historical time-machine snapshots, institutional-grade data feeds, user billing, and multi-user saved workspaces. Include error handling for data gaps, unit tests for Greeks and payoff math, and integration tests for the UI endpoints. Provide Docker compose for local run and deployment scripts for a small cloud VM.

- 3/3 assessment runs agreed+4
- Hard moats found in the evidence-3
- Evidence score59
The base comes from the verdict. Everything under it is a check that either happened or did not, and each one is a fact frozen in this record rather than a judgement made at render time - so the same evidence always produces the same number.
